Assigning the 3D grid and faults
With the Assign Data form of the Fault Seal Modeling workflow (model > Fault Seal > Fault Seal Modeling > Assign Data) you select the grid that contains the faults for which you want to calculate fault transmissibility. All faults that are present in the grid are available for selection.
To assign the input grid and faults
- Open the Assign Data form and select the Fault Seal Model of interest from the Model drop-down list.
- From the Grid drop-down list, select the grid that contains the faults. Upon selection, all faults contained in that grid are listed in the Faults table below.
- Select the fault(s) for which you want to calculate fault transmissibility.
- At the base of the form, click OK to assign the data and move to the next workflow step, or click Apply to assign the data and keep the form open.
Important When you re-assign a fault, the application will prompt a warning that all properties that were previously generated for that fault, will be removed. There is no automatic update of existing fault seal modeling properties. This means you have to re-run all workflow steps further down the workflow for this fault to re-generate these properties. This ensures consistency of all fault seal modeling properties
Upon clicking, a 'Fault Seal' surface set is added to the Surface Sets folder in the JewelExplorer, carrying the names of the 3D Grid and Fault Seal Model. This surface set contains a point set per assigned fault with the properties as generated with the Geometric Properties tool (see Requirements and input) and property 'Connection area' (the common area of any two cells which are in touch across a fault). All the properties which will be generated with the next steps of the workflow will be added to this point set.
